Editorial - Book Design

This is a design concept for Exercises In Style, a novel by the French author, poet and editor Raymond Queneau.

The concept explores the idea of typography escaping the confines of the book structure. It is inspired by the words “rats who construct the labyrinth from which they plan to escape”, a phrase Queneau used to describe the Oulipo group — a literary movement he founded.
